We are joining forces with photographer Jim Stoicheff, who has documented the stunning beauty and pristine wildness of the Carrizo Plain, to support our legal efforts to protect the Carrizo Plain from environmental disaster and exploitation.

Jim’s special limited edition prints will be available with 100% of the proceeds going to ForestWatch’s legal efforts to protect the Carrizo Plain from environmental disaster and exploitation.

“The plain that has existed for millions of years is a different plain each time I visit. Flowers fade, washes appear, pavement crumbles, antique farm equipment rusts, cattle dung dots swaths, bullet holes riddle old water tanks, gates block previously open roads, fences disappear. Join Los Padres ForestWatch, Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co., and Toad&Co for a night celebrating the Carrizo Plain National Monument and other local public lands. Learn about the current review of the Carrizo Plain National Monument and sign a letter supporting its protected status while enjoying delicious beer from Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co. and tasty appetizers. We will also have some very special guests speakers: Gordon Seabury, CEO of Toad&Co and Chair of the Outdoor Industry Association will talk about the importance of public lands and Chuck Graham, a local landscape photographer and adventure writer, will present a slideshow of his inspiring work — much of it featuring the Carrizo Plain National Monument. Join us at the Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co. taproom in Arroyo Grande for an evening of information about the current review of the Carrizo Plain National Monument and how you can help keep it protected. We'll talk about the current review, a slideshow of incredible pictures from the Carrizo, and more -- all while drinking delicious beer from Fig Mtn. This will also be a great opportunity to write a letter of support before the public comment period closes on July 10th.

Join fellow public land advocates and conservationists to celebrate the Carrizo Plain National Monument, which is currently under threat by a status review ordered by President Trump. Hear from Representative Salud Carbajal, former Congresswoman Lois Capps, San Luis Obispo Mayor Heidi Harmon, and Pat Veesart, longtime resident of the Carrizo Plain, speak about the importance of the Carrizo Plain and why it deserves to remain a national monument. Violet Cavanaugh, Vice-chair of the Northern Chumash Tribal Council, will open the rally with a traditional Chumash ceremony and speak about the historic and current significance of the Carrizo Plain as a sacred site to many Native American tribes. There will also be letter-writing stations set up so you can easily lend your voice of support for the Carrizo during the public comment period that ends on July 10th. This event is free and open to the public!

Join us to learn about the Trump Administration's current review of the Carrizo Plain National Monument's protected status and how you can speak out. Learn about the biological, geological, cultural, and economical importance of the Carrizo Plain from conservation leaders and the Vice-chair of the Northern Chumash Tribal Council. Photographer Marlin Harms will be there to take you on a virtual trip to the Carrizo with some of his incredible photos of the landscape and wildlife. This will also be a great opportunity to write a letter voicing your support for the Carrizo Plain during the 60-day public comment period that ends on July 10th! Postcards and digital forms will be provided. This event is free and open to the public!
